What does Dojo mean? A dōjō (道場) is a hall or place for immersive learning or meditation. The term literally means “place of the Way” in Japanese.

Within Futaba Manufacturing UK LTD, the Dojo is split into 2 areas, classroom, and shopfloor. This allows us to induct and train members ready for the production environment. The classroom gives a quiet place to train members and to present learning material where the shopfloor Dojo enables us to train members in the production atmosphere.

Members coming into the business spend 1 week being trained to both core competencies and process training. All members are then trained on a different core competency once a month throughout the year to ensure training stays fresh.

New starters have a weekly review for 12 weeks to enable them to feedback how each week has been for them. This will also give all members the opportunity to discuss any further training requirements of which they believe they may still require with the trainer.
